Definition of ICT Information and Communication Technology / ICT (Information and Communication Technologies / ICT) is a large umbrella term that covers all the technical equipment to process and Convey information. ICT includes two aspects: information technology and communication technology. Information technology encompasses all matters Relating to the process, the use of a tool, manipulation, and management of information. While communication technology is everything associated with the use of tools to process and transfer of the data from one device to another.
Utilization of ICT in the field of industrial and manufacturing
In industry, the computer is used in the process of planning a new product through design programs, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). Point, so that the desired product can be designed quickly, easily, and has a high accuracy. For example, to draw the shape design of the car takes a long time and relatively difficult if done manually. However, with a CAD program (eg, AutoCad) all that can be resolved. In fact, this program can depict the real shape of a vehicle design seen from different angles (three-dimensional).
In the production phase, the robot used by a computer program d¬kendalikan Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM). In fact, vehicle durability testing can be performed and simulated with komputcr.
From these explanations, it can be concluded that the role of ICT in the field of very large industrial and manufacturing, which are as follows.
a. As a tool for designing new products in a fast, easy, and precise (accurate).
b. The production process can be done with minimal human labor, thereby reducing the physical risks that may be experienced by humans.

The role of ICTs in the education industry

1. ICT as a skill and competency
  • The use of ICT should be proportionate means of ICT could get into all walks of life but incompatibility with portions of each.
2. ICT as a learning infrastructure
  • Availability of instructional materials in digital format
  • The network is the school
  • learning anywhere and anytime
3. ICT as a source of learning
  • Science is expanding rapidly
  • Great teachers spread across the world
  • Books and instructional materials continuously updated
  • Innovation requires thinking partnership
  • Without technology, learning up-to-date takes a long time
4. ICT as a tool and learning facilities
  • Submission of knowledge considering the real-world context
  • Illustrate the various phenomena of science to accelerate the absorption of teaching materials
  • Student exploration of knowledge more widely and independently
  • The acquisition of knowledge is derived from the interaction of students and teachers
  • The ratio between teachers and learners to determine the provision of facilities
5. ICT to support the learning management
  • Each individual requires learning support nonstop every day
  • Interactive transactions and interactions between stakeholders requires a strong back office management
  • Quality of service in administration pengeekan increased gradually
  • The man is a valuable resource
6. ICT as a decision support system
  • Each individual has the character and talent of each learning
  • Teachers improve their competence in various fields of science
  • Profile educational institution recognized by the Government.
